Parent’s Guide to Navigating Education Options With Confidence

At Trinitas, education goes beyond the classroom. From joyful traditions to meaningful service, our students experience a rich and memorable school year—full of laughter, learning, celebration, and growth in Christ. Here’s what a year at Trinitas looks like!

Starting Strong: Back-to-School Joy

Even before classes begin, our Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) brings families together for a casual hot dog social on campus. Then we kick off the year in style at the Back to School Bash—a beloved tradition with bounce houses, barbecue, and a whole lot of fun. It’s the perfect way to launch into the year with joy and fellowship.

Fall Festivities & Traditions

Autumn is full of school spirit and community connection:

  • TCA Spirit Days pop up throughout the year, with students and staff dressing in House colors, school t-shirts, or creative themes.
  • Our annual Chili Cook-Off brings families together for a cozy evening of food and fun.
  • Church History Day honors the great men and women of faith who have gone before us. Students dress as historical Christian figures and celebrate with games, activities, and a medieval-style feast.
  • Our K–3rd grade students enjoy a classic fall day with a field trip to Gentry’s Farm for hayrides and a picnic.
  • Just before Thanksgiving Break, classrooms fill with feasts, games, and gratitude, launching the holiday season with joy.

Living Our Faith: Service & Worship

Every student at Trinitas participates in service to our broader community:

  • Each morning, we begin our day together with a time of scripture, psalms, and hymns.
  • All K–12 classes complete at least one service project each year.
  • Students in 7th–12th grade complete an additional 12 hours of service through various outreach opportunities.
  • Our Logic and Rhetoric students regularly visit Morning Pointe Assisted Living, sharing songs, Scripture readings, and the love of Christ with residents.

In December, our school gathers for the beautiful tradition of Lessons & Carols, a time of Scripture reading, carols, and class presentations. The program features all K–12 students and concludes with fellowship, hot cocoa, and cookies. We close the semester with a festive Christmas Assembly, ending with a reading of the birth of Christ from the Gospel of Luke.

Winter Wonders & History Week

After Christmas Break, we return around Epiphany and dive straight into one of our most exciting traditions—History Week!

Each year, we explore a different world culture, transforming our halls into far-off places with:

  • Guest speakers
  • Student-led presentations
  • Hands-on activities
  • Cultural feasts and dress-up day

During this season, our 3rd–6th graders also dive into science, preparing their own projects for the Trinitas Science Fair.

Testing, Latin, and Learning Milestones

Spring is full of growth and academic celebration:

  • Students in 4th–10th grade Latin classes participate in the Universal Latin Exam.
  • All 3rd–12th grade students take the Classic Learning Test (CLT), a norm-referenced standardized test designed specifically for classical education. High schoolers may use this score for college admissions and scholarships.

Speech Meet & Academic Excellence

Each spring, all students in K–12 prepare a recitation—Scripture, poetry, fables, or historical speeches—for the Trinitas Speech Meet. Finalists from 1st–12th grades perform before the school community for a chance to earn gold, silver, or bronze medals.

Our seniors spend much of the year crafting their capstone theses, presenting and defending their ideas before peers, judges, and faculty with poise and depth. It’s a powerful demonstration of their growth as thinkers and communicators.

Logic & Rhetoric Highlights (Grades 7–12)

Student life in the Logic and Rhetoric Divisions is vibrant, purposeful, and rooted in fellowship:

  • House Sorting & Retreat: Students begin the year by joining one of our four Houses and heading off for a daylong retreat at Deer Run—complete with ropes courses, laser tag, and team-building fun.
  • Overnight Trips: In 2025, our 7th-12th students enjoyed a four-day visit to our nation’s capital. Plans are already underway for a Northeastern US tour in Spring 2027!
  • High School Formal: A night of elegance and culture.  Past events have featured dinner out and an evening at the Nashville Symphony for a world-premiere concerto or seeing a Shakespeare play.
  • Spring Dance & Field Day: We close the year with our annual Spring Dance and the unforgettable Redneck Olympics—the final battle for House Cup glory!

Enrichment Activities

Students at Trinitas enjoy a variety of optional enrichment opportunities throughout the year that foster creativity, skill-building, and fun.  Here are some examples of enrichments:

  • Christian Youth Theater (CYT) – Musical theater, acting, and performance arts in a Christ-centered environment
  • Chess Club – Strategy, focus, and sportsmanship through weekly matches and instruction
  • Tumbleweeds – A beginner-level gymnastics club that promotes movement, flexibility, and fun
  • Crochet Club – Handcrafting with yarn, learning a skill that’s both creative and calming
  • Code Ninja – A tech-forward club that introduces logic and programming fundamentals in a fun, game-based environment

Athletic Opportunities

At Trinitas, student life extends well beyond the classroom. Through athletics and enrichment opportunities, students grow in perseverance, teamwork, creativity, and joy as they pursue their God-given interests and talents.

  • Trap Shooting Team (Grades 4–12)
Students can join the Trinitas Trap Team, part of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), where safety, discipline, and precision are developed through competitive clay target shooting.
  • Cross Country Team (Grades K–12)
All students are invited to run with the Trinitas Cross Country Team, competing in the Tennessee State Independent Athletic Association (TSIAA). From our youngest runners to high school athletes, cross country builds endurance, grit, and team spirit.
  • Football (Middle & High School Boys)
Through a partnership with a local school, Trinitas boys in grades 7–12 have the opportunity to play competitive football while remaining full-time Trinitas students.
  • Other Local Sports Opportunities
Many of our students also participate in community athletic programs including soccer, basketball, swimming, and more—allowing for a well-rounded athletic experience that fits your family’s needs.

Finishing Well: Awards & Graduation

We close the year by celebrating our students’ accomplishments during Awards Day, culminating in the promotion of our Kindergarteners and graduation of our senior class. It’s a time to reflect, rejoice, and give thanks for all that God has done.

At Trinitas, student life is more than events—it’s formation.

From Preschool through 12th grade, our students are learning to love what is good, serve with joy, and walk in wisdom. At Trinitas, we seek to nurture the whole child—heart, soul, mind, and strength—through experiences that are both meaningful and joyful. Whether it’s running a race, learning a new skill, or cheering on a teammate, our students are growing in character, confidence, and Christlikeness every step of the way.  We invite you to join us in this vibrant, Christ-centered journey.
