Miss Julia Grounds takes great care of our kids after school is out each day. She grew up in British Columbia, and came to Tennessee in 2014 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts at New College Franklin. She was drawn by New College’s mission: to, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, disciple students through the liberal arts for wisdom and missional living. At New College Miss Julia has had the opportunity to explore a variety of subjects including philosophy, theology, literature, art, music, and Greek.
She encountered TCA in her search for a place where she could pursue her interest in teaching. Miss Julia was attracted by the school’s philosophy and objective, and in 2016 she became part of TCA as an after-care teacher and pre-k aid. Miss Julia appreciates TCA’s small class sizes that help foster closer relationships, and she is grateful for opportunities to encourage young persons and to point them to the wonder of what God has made and who he is.
One of her favorite quotations is from Richard Sibbes: “There is more mercy in Christ than sin in us.” Miss Julia is the third of eight children. She enjoys hiking in the mountains and forests of British Columbia, drinking French press coffee, and exploring new places. A verse that has stayed close to Miss Julia is Matthew 11:28. Jesus says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
