Eric Van Gorden
Headmaster and Bible Teacher
Eric Van Gorden was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Maryland and Virginia before his family moved to Florida. There he attended Florida Southwestern State College and worked at an academic preschool for 3 years. He then managed a sports memorabilia store for the next 3 years. While in Florida, he met and married his beloved wife Cathy.
In 1996, the Van Gordens moved to Tennessee to work at Eagles Nest Academy (now The Classical Academy), founded by his father, the late Rev. Dale Van Gorden, and mother, Linda. All four of their children attended ENA/TCA, the oldest earning a full-ride scholarship to a private Tennessee university, the second is currently at a local college, and the two youngest are still at TCA. Eric enjoys Brazilian JiuJitsu, which he has studied since 2008, and classic cars (he inherited his father’s Mustang Convertible). However, his greatest passion is teaching students the Scriptures.
