Who We Are
Our faculty operates as an extension of the family under the assumption that the education of young people is the responsibility of parents and the immediate family rather than the responsibility of the state. TCA provides a Biblically-based curriculum and teaches all subjects as parts of an integrated whole with the Scriptures in the center.
The principal objective at our school is to train young men and women to think clearly and listen carefully with discernment and understanding; who reason persuasively and articulate precisely; who are capable of evaluating their entire range of experience in light of the Scriptures, and who do so with eagerness in joyful submission to God. We desire our students to recognize cultural influences in the light of Scripture, and not to be swayed or tempted towards evil by their culture. We hope, by God’s grace, to raise up young men and women who are zealous for truth, hungry for goodness, and sensitive to beauty.
In addition to our adoption of the Trivium as the framework for our curriculum, and the incorporation of classical language studies and formal logic, another unique aspect of our vision is the emphasis we desire to place on the arts and humanities: history, literature, music, drama, and the visual arts. It is our intent to emphasize these, not to the detriment or neglect of the sciences, but rather out of a desire to restore a proper balance between them, a balance which in times past was considered essential to “the good life,” a life lived in rich enjoyment of God and full embrace of the gifts He gives to His creatures, all for His own glory.
TCA was established in 2010 following the merger of Eagles Nest Academy and Artios Academy, and is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools.
